Jeremy has ditched the billable hour. Jeremy does not sell his time as a Fractional CTO but instead offers value-based pricing. Specifically, he improves organizational capability driving market value. Initiatives are focused on dramatically improving predictability in the product development organization. This value is delivered incrementally within weekly, monthly, and quarterly timeboxes. Jeremy's value precisely aligns with this job description, and business is performed under the terms of the Master Services Agreement.

 

The scope of work is broadly defined as establishing a rhythm, setting priorities, and using empirical data to guide decision-making while fulfilling the duties in the job description. You will be leveraging Jeremy's experience to improve people, processes, and technology through the subscription/contract. We will enhance your organizational capability to drive market value for customers, employees, and shareholders. Together, we will dramatically improve the business, so we have predictability.

Jeremy's services primarily focus on start-ups and early-stage companies, usually up to 50MM revenue companies. Jeremy requires an annual contract on most engagements and must be paid for services to be performed. This is largely due to the necessity to add dedication and reserve effort to engagements to affect outcomes in the best positive way. Meaningful long-lasting change takes time to provide significant market value and the process of making product development exceptional takes iterations and teamwork. Additionally, historically, too many funding issues were experienced in the early stage company lifecycle, preventing Jeremy from being able to do plans in NET 30, and other post-work billing arrangements. Jeremy is primarily interested in working on long-term engagements to effect long-lasting change which can help product development execute better across product, program, project, team, and technology to bring products to market and scale rapidly in the leanest way possible. Fundamentally, the outcome we are looking for is that we are improving organizational capability to improve our ability to innovate as well as improve our time to market so we can bring as much market value to customers, employees, and shareholders in the smallest amount of time. The impact is that the business is able to grow exponentially as a result to achieve its vision on schedule.

Available Plans

Jeremy offers plans using a yearly subscription model with value-based pricing. Different tiers are available based on the activities and level of commitment required. Jeremy will recommend which tier is appropriate for your needs. Subscriptions/contracts no longer auto-renew. Payments are refundable up to and until the Master Services Agreement is countersigned by both parties, minus transaction fees. You can read the MSA you will be signing as a part of this engagement here.

Does Jeremy accept company stock for a reduced cost? This depends on a multitude of factors, but you can ask Jeremy if you want him to consider a stock and subscription/contract combination. You must have a serviceable addressable market worth at least $100MM and you must be in revenue with at least $12,000 USD MRR. Pre-revenue projects or smaller markets are not considered for equity trades unless you are a web3 or blockchain project and doing something unique and intriguing.

Jeremy prefers crypto as a payment option due to his activity in the blockchain technology space. Use the buttons to go straight to the payment checkout. Jeremy prefers USDC so the transaction value is stable until the MSA and other supporting documents can be countersigned by both parties. This way if a refund is required, no value is lost in the transaction, minus transaction fees.

Suppose cryptocurrencies are not a good option for you, Jeremy will also accept traditional bank wire transfers. However, Jeremy strongly recommends paying in crypto so you can receive up to 60% discounts on training programs and additional services for your teams. Work cannot begin until the wire transfer completely clears with bank processing time usually between 3-5 business days.

Subscriptions/contracts do not auto-renew.

Tier 8

Hourly allocation. This is an ad-hoc plan to allocate a specific set of hours as a timebox when the annual contract option is not the best fit. This option is rarely used, but Jeremy keeps this available in case it's needed from time to time. Jeremy does not sell his time but rather delivers certain value within a timebox set aside in advance. For this engagement, the minimum engagement hours is six (6). Multiply desired hours by $249 for total and send the USDC to the address provided during checkout or pay with Coinbase, whichever is easiest for you. The hourly rate in this tier is greater than the combined rate for the yearly plans. If you are interested in working with Jeremy, you will save a significant amount on the annual subscriptions.

Tier 7

Hire & mentor a CTO x8. This subscription provides a timebox of 8 hours per month. In this subscription, we aim to hire and mentor a full-time CTO for your company. This is an annual subscription great for when you want to bring up an up-and-coming leader who might not have the experience to hit the ground running but has amazing potential. Over the year, we will align product development with your new CTO where Jeremy is providing mentoring and coaching to help facilitate rapid continuous improvement cycles and structure to provide a predictable rhythm, vertical decision making, and empirical data decision making.

Tier 6

CTO Gold x8 (Mentor Team & Set Goals). This subscription provides a timebox of 8 hours per month. In this subscription, we aim to mentor and set goals for your team so they can begin a journey of continuous improvement. This is an annual subscription great for when you want to level up a team that might not have the experience to create predictable outcomes in product development but has amazing potential. Over the year, we will align product development with your existing team where Jeremy is providing mentoring and coaching to help facilitate rapid continuous improvement cycles and structure to provide a predictable rhythm, vertical decision making, and empirical data decision making. This is recommended for slow gradual change and the team will aim to accomplish goals and run experiments that lead to positive long-lasting change to improve predictability. This tier focuses mainly on people doing the right things.

Tier 5

CTO Gold x13 (Mentor Team, Set Goals, & Train Self-Guided Framework). This subscription provides a timebox of 13 hours per month. In this subscription, we aim to mentor team members, setting goals, and implement Jeremy's out-of-the-box management frameworks with Jeremy providing light facilitation to teach the team how to get started in the frameworks. This is an annual subscription great for when you want to bring up an up-and-coming team who might not have the experience to hit the ground running but has amazing potential. Over the year, we will align product development with your existing team where Jeremy is providing mentoring and coaching to help facilitate rapid continuous improvement cycles and structure to provide a predictable rhythm, vertical decision making, and empirical data decision making. Jeremy will also provide a template framework that provides step-by-step systems to help the team create predictability and visibility. This is recommended for more rapid process change and the team will aim to accomplish goals and run experiments that lead to positive long-lasting change to improve predictability. This tier focuses mainly on people doing the right things using the right things.

Tier 4

CTO Gold x21 (Mentor Team, Set Goals, & Facilitate Self-Guided Framework). This subscription provides a timebox of 21 hours per month. In this subscription, we aim to mentor team members, setting goals, and implement Jeremy's out-of-the-box management frameworks with Jeremy providing weekly ceremony facilitation to teach the team how to get started in the frameworks and how to improve after each iteration. Jeremy helps the team grow by acting as a part-time ScrumMaster while depending on the team for day-to-day activities outside the timebox. This is an annual subscription great for when you want to bring up an up-and-coming team who might not have the experience to hit the ground running but has amazing potential and you want improvement to occur at a more rapid pace. Over the year, we will align product development with your existing team where Jeremy is providing mentoring and coaching to help facilitate rapid continuous improvement cycles and structure to provide a predictable rhythm, vertical decision making, and empirical data decision making. Jeremy will also provide a template framework that provides step-by-step systems to help the team create predictability and visibility and Jeremy will facilitate the adoption of this framework by participating as a primary facilitator in ceremonies. Tier 3

CTO Gold x34 (Technology Plan, Team, Goals, Facilitated Framework). This subscription provides a timebox of 34 hours per month. In this subscription, we aim to mentor team members, setting goals, and implement Jeremy's out-of-the-box management frameworks with Jeremy providing weekly ceremony facilitation to teach the team how to get started in the frameworks and how to improve after each iteration. Jeremy helps the team grow by acting as a dedicated ScrumMaster while depending on the team for day-to-day activities outside the timebox. Additionally, Jeremy will work with the team to provide a technology assessment and risk remediation plan to build into the product roadmap strategy. This is an annual subscription great for when you need your systems and people to be significantly better and want to bring up an up-and-coming team who might not have the experience to hit the ground running but has amazing potential and you want improvement to occur at a more rapid pace with both process and systems. Over the year, we will align product development with your existing team where Jeremy is providing mentoring and coaching to help facilitate rapid continuous improvement cycles and structure to provide a predictable rhythm, vertical decision making, and empirical data decision making. Jeremy will also provide a template framework that provides step-by-step systems to help the team create predictability and visibility and Jeremy will facilitate the adoption of this framework by participating as a primary facilitator in ceremonies. This is recommended for rapid process change and the team will aim to accomplish both predictability goals as well as technology goals where the team runs experiments that lead to positive long-lasting change to improve predictability. This tier focuses mainly on people doing the right things using the right things while making sure our technology has quality built-in and is evolving with agility and scale in mind.

Tier 2

CTO Gold x55 (Tier 2 Dedicated CTO - Single Project). This subscription provides a timebox of 55 hours per month. In this subscription, we aim to provide a complete CTO service in line with the CTO Job Description in a part-time capacity where we include all of the aspects of the lower tiers but also manage the program and projects in the program with complete ownership. Over the year, we will align product development with an existing team or perhaps consider changes to the team as a whole, depending on the team's competency in computer science and the overall culture of the product development organization and its ability to be a world-class product development organization. This is recommended for rapid process change and the team will be driven to accomplish both predictability goals as well as technology goals where the team runs experiments that lead to positive long-lasting change to improve predictability. This tier focuses on the first stage of CTO ownership where the CTO will start to be accountable for people, processes, and systems as a whole to facilitate outcomes along with holding the team accountable for progress with leading and lagging measures. This tier is best for an organization that has one project running and complete ownership of a high caliber CTO is required along with the need to help develop people, processes, and systems across the organization.

Tier 1

CTO Gold x89 (Tier 1 Dedicated CTO - Multiple Project). This subscription provides a timebox of 89 hours per month. In this subscription, we aim to provide a complete CTO service in line with the CTO Job Description in something closer to full-time capacity where we include all of the aspects of the lower tiers but also manage the program and multiple projects in the program with complete ownership. Over the year, we will align product development with an existing team or perhaps consider changes to the team as a whole, depending on the team's competency in computer science and the overall culture of the product development organization and its ability to be a world-class product development organization. This is recommended for rapid process change and the team will be driven to accomplish both predictability goals as well as technology goals where the team runs experiments that lead to positive long-lasting change to improve predictability. This tier focuses on CTO ownership where the CTO will be accountable for its people, processes, and systems as a whole to facilitate outcomes along with holding the team accountable for progress with leading and lagging measures. This tier is best for an organization that has more than one project running (up to three) and complete ownership of a high caliber CTO is required along with the need to help develop people, processes, and systems across the organization.
